I've long needed an arch-enemy. And, word on the street is that Mickey Kaus savagely lays into me in the latest BloggingHeads. Enough so, it seems, that there's a whole comment thread on "Kaus on Ezra."* As part of his savage, brutal, beating, he apparently refuses to debate me. Which is possibly the most awesome thing I've ever heard, but limits our ability to really go to war. Anyway, there's really no way to respond to Kaus save to link to Lawyers, Guns, and Money's continuing war on the man they call "America's Worst Blogger." I think they've mostly got it covered, and, in any case, I'm deputizing them to defend my honor, because they read Kaus regularly and I don't.
Meanwhile, I'm sort of concerned for Mickey. I went to his blog to see if he'd attacked me there, but alas. He is, however, suddenly all about Jon Cohn (as am I! Though I don't have such foolish, non-Cohn like beliefs about health care), but what's going to happen when he turns to the acknowledgments of his new favorite book and sees the "ferociously knowledgeable" Ezra Klein thanked? Total meltdown, I fear. And if this is what Kaus looks like all melted, err, up, we're in for some trouble.
*Okay, I haven't actually watched the segment, as I'm too bogged down with articles to get irritated right now. The prospects for procrastination are simply too great, and I've got to finish my Washington Monthly piece before getting into a pissing match. But you guys should watch and tell me what level of feud we're at! Do I need to view it?
