"So that's what we want is a secure and sovereign nation, and, you know, I don't know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don't know that," she told Rancho High School's Hispanic Student Union on Friday. "What we know, what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot in this country. My grandchildren are evidence of that. I'm evidence of that. I've been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly."
The only way to make sense of this is to assume that -- like Michael Scott -- Angle is desperate to show her colorblindness and non-racism. Of course, the irony is that in attempting to demonstrate his lack of bigotry, Scott reveals his deep-seated and incredible prejudice. Likewise, Angle's vocal colorblindness stands in contrast to her obvious race-baiting. It would be hilarious, if she didn't have an even shot at becoming a United States senator.
