Kit Rachlis is the editor-in-chief of The American Prospect. He has served as arts editor of the Boston Phoenix, executive editor of The Village Voice, editor-in-chief of L.A. Weekly, and senior projects editor at the Los Angeles Times. From 2000 to 2009, he was editor-in-chief of Los Angeles magazine. During his tenure, the magazine was a finalist eight times for the National Magazine Awards and won 39 gold medals from the City and Regional Magazine Association. It also won two James Beard awards, two PEN Center USA awards, a Casey Medal, and numerous other honors. While at the Los Angeles Times, he edited articles that went on to win a Pulitzer Prize, the Ernie Pyle Award, and the Livingston Award, among others.
