I wrote yesterday about how President Obama may be wrong to believe that he has “no permanent enemies” -- especially when it comes to the Republican leadership hell-bent on destroying him. Well, once he figures that out, maybe he could teach John McCain and Joe Lieberman a thing or two.

I knew it was official when I received an e-mail from Glenn Beck denouncing Obama’s “war for oil” in Libya. It’s like déjà vu in Wonderland --- the same, but all turned around.

All of the sudden the same Republican hawks who were complaining that Obama was not taking military action to protect the people of Libya are now complaining that he took action without sufficiently asking their permission first.

I’m not weighing in here on whether the military action required congressional approval or oversight. My point is, Obama could have brought a resolution to Congress on a silver platter, and Republicans would be all over the news complaining it should have been gold.

They just hate him.

U.S. Isn't Broke: Ask Gadhafi & Raymond Davis

First it was blood money. After CIA operative Raymond A. Davis shot and killed two Pakistani men who allegedly tried to rob Davis while he was stationed in Lahore on a covert mission, our allegedly overspent nation that can’t afford heating-oil subsidies for poor people somehow scrounged up $2.3 million to pay off the families of those Davis killed. In exchange, Davis was not indicted in Pakistan but released into U.S. custody.

GRITtv’s Laura Flanders points out that $2.3 million could pay for nearly 45 public schoolteachers in Wisconsin, who earn an average of $51,000 per year.
