BATTING .500

Given how much more closely I’ve followed Democratic politics the past four years, i’ve been embarrassed at times by my assessments or predictions of the race for the Democratic nomination.
But I think it’s safe to say that this forecast was spot-on.

You nailed it. The only thing you did hit exactly was the way Huckabee and Romney split the vote making way for McCain, though it's implied.
Your commenters look kind of silly from then as well. I esp like the part where McCain still has to beat Hillary.

You sure you didn't just post that yesterday and change the date stamp? ;)
Great call.

You missed the dramatic and complete collapse of Rudy well before New Hampshire, but otherwise pretty spot on.

I'm surprised not to find my name in that comment thread. I was certainly among those who was sure McCain was dead.
Huck made a big blunder by campaigning in NH, which is a total demographic misfit for his appeal. He could have stolen a march on the others either in Michigan (where he'd been polling competitively) or in SC. If he'd have finished ahead of McCain in either place, McCain would have had a much tougher road.

You forgot Poland! Er... Thompson!
Seriously though, uncanny, real nice calls.
