STATE SECRETS.

It's pretty frustrating that the Obama administration has chosen to toe the Bush administration's line on the details of Binyam Mohamed's interrogation being "state secrets." Obviously there are strong international pressures affecting the decision, but it's an ill omen for people expecting Obama to be open to bringing some of the Bush administration's abuses into the sunlight. It's possible that the judge will refuse the Obama administration's assertion of the state secrets privilege, but this is still a rather disappointing form of continuity between this administration and the last.
