This makes some of the claims in the Salon piece on George Allen’s football years look shaky. On the other hand, I don’t know precisely how many decorative nooses, confederate flags, or off-the-cuff racial slurs you need to qualify as a bigot, but I’m pretty sure Allen clears the bar.
