Blue Texan notices a line from George W. Bush that shows him being a bit selective about his accomplishments:

“I would like to be remembered as a guy who had a set of priorities, and was willing to live by those priorities,” explained Bush. “In terms of accomplishments, my biggest accomplishment is that I kept the country safe amidst a real danger.”

It’s one thing for the right, and for Bush himself, to pretend that the biggest terror attack on American soil, an event that killed about three thousand people, doesn’t “count,” even though it happened while he was president. But it’s an indication of how successful they’ve been at getting the rest of the country to share that perception that this didn’t draw more attention.
