No speculation about Mike Bloomberg's hypothetical Presidential campaign until he says something positive about the idea of running for President. So far he's said he's excited about using the last 900+ days as mayor effectively; that he's "done the government thing"; that his next job will be in philanthropy; and that he could forsee running for President if everyone else died. This does not sound like anyone else running for President; even Al "I'm not running" Gore has more positive things to say about the idea of a campaign.
This whole Bloomberg affair is horse race journamalism at its worst. If the press devoted as much ink existing candidate's ideas about what to do in Iraq as they have to Bloomberg, we would all be better off. I sometimes wonder whether people don't believe politicians because they too often rely on white lies and half-truths, or because the press assumes everything they say is a white lie or a half-truth.
