Did you know you can travel across the country without leaving a Republican congressional district? Well, the College Republican National Committee has sent four young people on a road trip to prove it! And naturally, they've set up a site, Where is the Red?, to let you follow the progress of four very earnest, very white youngsters who support John McCain and love road trips. Complete with blogs! And Twitter feeds! And a MySpace page!
The user blogs are priceless. Chris offers a packing lesson. (It appears they are driving an SUV or a minivan. I wonder how their gas bills are looking.) I'm a little concerned with user Kerry's obsession with the dead ... but hey, perhaps that's just a symptom of the Republican Party's aging demographic.
This goal of the trip: to "prove what the media refuses to acknowledge; that the youth of America are excited about the prospects of a John McCain Presidency and a Republican Congress." Er, have they seen the polls?
Ah well. I guess my usual road trip goals of thrifting and bird watching pale in comparison to the chance to prove party loyalty.
