A speech without results is just talk.
If your legislation hasn�t passed the House and Senate, had money appropriated for it, had time for those funds to be disbursed, and actually changed facts on the ground, you have not fixed the problem. Any bill that doesn�t pass does not exist.
Personal and character questions will always trump policy because when you have a job instead of a career, the private world is primary.
Big promises are suspicious because big changes never happen without heroic efforts, and if life were that easy you�d have figured out some way to make more money.
Democracy is � thank God — not a meritocracy.
