AN APOLOGY TO READERS. You know, it was not my intention to drag my op-ed about Joe Francis and Girls Gone Wild onto this site, since it was published in The Wall Street Journal, since I elaborated on some points that I felt needed clarification on my own site, and since this blog didn’t strike me as the best forum for discussing the issue or conducting the kind of conversation on it I wanted to have. Close readers of this blog will note that I have, in fact, only posted on it here once before now. It may not feel that way, because of the five items written about my piece by Scott Lemieux on Tapped and his personal blog, as well commentaries on other sites by Ezra, his co-blogger Neil Sinhababu of John Edwards 2008, Echidne, and by Matt Yglesiasover at Campus Progress. All I can say is: I’d never have subjected readers to this much commentary on the subject on my own and very much look forward to hearing more of my co-bloggers own original arguments about other matters, instead of such excessive attentions to mine.
