It’s not online yet, but last night I spent a good half hour reading Condoleeza Rice’s essay on a “New American Realism” in the coming issue of Foreign Affairs. Turns out I needn’t have bothered. This administration has apparently pursued a prudent, modest, appropriate, and effective foreign policy. Indeed, it has followed the only path America could sensibly have walked. If the next president is wise, he will continue on this course.
