According to CNN, black voters haven’t made up a bigger portion of the electorate in Virginia than they did in 2004. At the same time, Jonathan Martin reports that Obama is cutting into McCain‘s margins in rural areas of the state. But certainly, the Obama campaign was hoping Virginia wouldn’t be this close.
