Someone claiming to be blogger Derick Mathis left a comment on my blog post about casualties in the LGBT rights movement yesterday. Although I hope that this isn’t actually Mathis, because that would mean the man is running around the internet embarrassing himself.

We are absolutely stunned that many gays think because LGBTs have died via homophobia/discrimination therefore that defines a “civil rights” movement.

Not only are we gay, pro-gay and fierce activists and advocates for LGBT rights, we also like ciivl disobedience groups like Get Equal, are appalled at the lack of initiative on the LGBT community’s behalf to stand up and be proactive for their rights.

You’re pathetic and cowardly. And your thinking underscores how gay white privilege redefined a political campaign in California prior to Prop 8’s win. They decided that a campaign to communities of color wasn’t necessary for a win.

Clearly that didn’t work. Now we are again: LGBTs like yourself reinventing the civil rights movement—let’s win a fight without getting hit.

Your’e delusional. There have been no casualties from the gay community cause gays don’t have a civil rights movement.

Yea, gays die at the hand of homophobia. Okay. No disagreement here.

So when’s the civil rights movement starting?

You’re a cowardly loser. Fight for your rights or shut up.

I’m straight, I’m black, and I find this argument fairly incomprehensible. If you happen to come back and translate, could you wipe the spittle off my blog? Thanks.
