It's hard to tell how much value there is in the recent focus grouping by former Republican wordsmith Frank Luntz (via kos). Considering how much the issue landscape can change between now and the Iowa caucus, and how much impact the candidates themselves will have on changing the issue landscape, there's no reason. If I were working for the Russ Feingold campaign for instance, I would love for Hillary Clinton to read this advice and decide to start talking about deficit reduction while I bash her for voting for tax cuts and the Iraq war.
