220,000 Democrats voted compared with 140,000 Republicans. Obama enters with impossibly cute family. Blitzer says he's had trouble with his voice today but I can't tell. Speaking of change, Obama has the word right up on his podium. He stands in front of supporters with signs, not key backers like the others so far. "They said... they said... they said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high. They said this country was too divided, to disillusioned to come together around one common purpose... You have done what the cynics said we couldn't do... you have done what the state of New Hampshire can do in five days... you have done what America can do this new year." Talks about addition not division... cute. Talks about a president who'll tell you what you need to know, not what you need to hear. Then talks directly to New Hampshire, saying that if it gives him a chance he'll be that president. Thanks his wife profusely then amid the applause points at her and just says "you" twice. Classy. "Hope is not blind optimism." If you watch one of these speeches tomorrow this is the one. It ranks among his best ever. Joe Biden now is also dropping out. Roland Martin points out that Iowa has never elected a black man to anything... this is a true Rainbow Coalition. I don't know who this guy is, but he's a lot more interesting than anyone else on CNN. Update: Carl Bernstein keeps talking about "the Clintons." Last time I checked Bill wasn't running for anything. Nobody is talking about the Obamas or the Edwardses and the focus on Bill seems pretty sexist to me. --Sam Boyd
