In my response to Megan on pharmaceutical research earlier today, I quoted liberally from Merrill Goozner, a friend and drug policy expert. Now, he weighs in himself. "This [supply-and-demand argument on drugs] misconstrues everything we know about the pharmaceutical innovation process," he starts out. His post is a fascinating tour through the actual issues at hand, from one who knows the sector, knows the research, and knows the problems. Well, well worth a read.
