This is the utility of blogs: I read this weekend's New York Times Magazine profile of the preternaturally accurate economic doomsayer Nouriel Rubini with interest. Ten years ago, Paul Krugman would have understood that the article didn't really do a good job of isolating Roubini's conceptual leaps, but it wouldn't have been worth a column for him to clarify the original piece. But now he can do it on his blog, and not waste a column. And thus I become a bit smarter.
