Carrie Budoff Brown reports that the bipartisan group of senators meeting to hammer out health reform now has a snappy name: The Board of Directors. Which fits the trend. The Board has given access to both the Politico and Time in the past week. They're looking for credit. Which is probably a good thing: Senators are senators. They're more likely to make hard calls and tough votes if there's something in it for them. Around the time stimulus passed, a smart friend tried to explain why it didn't foretell the end of bipartisanship on health reform. "There's no legacy in being a Republican vote on the President's hastily thrown-together stimulus package," he said. "There is a legacy in being one of the key senators who finally passes health reform."
