Over at Greg's place today, I wrote about Rep. Andy Harris, the recently elected Obamacare critic who really wants his government-subsidized health-care coverage. In my view, Harris accurately represents many Americans' contradictory political inclinations, but there's something else worth noting. Harris complained that he'd be without health-care coverage for nearly a month, but according to a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average workers go without coverage at a new job for at least twice that long.
The average waiting period among covered workers who face a waiting period is 2.2 months Thirty-one percent of covered workers face a waiting period of 3 months or more.
Just something to think about when Republicans call for repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
