I can't quite figure out what to say about Dana Goldstein's elegiac post on the business she thought she was entering, but I think people should read it. She's certainly right that aspiring newspaper journalists should consider a backup plan. But you also wonder what will happen the newspaper types left. As the most visible and promising entry level berths become places like TPM Cafe and Pajamas Media, you wonder if the type of kids trying to enter journalism won't change substantially to reflect that more opinionated approach.
