Amidst all the auto bailout drama today, Rahm Emanuel, Larry Summers and Phil Schiliro's visit to the Hill went relatively unnoticed. The three Obama wise men met with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid talking about what the stimulus package might look like when Congress reconvenes next year and other legislative issues expected to come up in January.Rahm is chief of staff, of course, and Schiliro is legislative affairs director. Summers is head of the National Economic Council, and the only one of the set that really knows the policy here. But where's Timothy Geithner? I'd say this is early evidence -- not conclusive, but suggestive -- that Summers is going to be the real power center on economic policy in the Obama administration.
