Arianna Huffington's got a long, overwhelmingly positive profile of Ehud Olmert over at her place. Olmert, you'll remember, is now the acting PM of Israel, having inherited the office after Sharon's stroke and until the next elections. Arianna's impression is that he'll continue, if not accelerate, the important work of Sharon, which is a great comfort, at least to me. Also worth reading is the post Olmert himself wrote upon the found of Kadima. Interesting stuff.
Relatedly, there's nothing more ironic in geopolitics than the battle for Israel. Everyone in the Middle East warring over a patch of supposedly holy land that has no oil is clearly, obviously cursed.
