I've been waiting for this poll from the University of Arkansas, which tells us, like so many other polls, that Blanche Lincoln is a goner this November. This, despite my early sense that it might work out for her in the end. But the poll also touched on some hot-button issues, most notably this:
Fifty-six percent said they approve of openly gay men and women serving in the military; 35 percent said they disapprove; and 9 percent did not know or did not answer.
This is Arkansas, remember: one of 29 states that defines marriage as being solely between a man and a woman and a state that tried to ban gay and unmarried couples from adopting children (until the ban was overturned by a judge). So this is not a state friendly to the LGBT community, yet even they don't approve of "don't ask, don't tell."
