I did a double take when driving along one of the drags in Greensboro and saw Oliver North beaming down at me from a billboard on high. "Breakfast with Col. Oliver North", the signage said, "[sponsored by] Boy Scouts of America".
Did I really just see that? Because, pardon me, but when I think Ollie North, I think "Iran Contra" and "Lying to Congress". I don't generally think "boy scout". But lo, I came home and googled, and it was true! A good discussion of this controversial choice can be found here.
