This weekend, I got some questions on McCain I wasn't totally prepared for. He's not, I have to admit, a guy I spend much time thinking about. So I spent some time thinking about the Arizona maverick this morning, after seeing that The New Republic had launched a series of defenses for his liberalism. And here's my conclusion: If you think John McCain's a progressive, then I'm about to convince you that George Bush is a communist.
