Tokyo Electric Power Co. President Masataka Shimiz resigned Friday after numerous allegations that the utility has poorly handled the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant crisis since Japan's March earthquake. His resignation is announced on the same day the company announced a $15.3 billion net loss in the last fiscal year as a result of the nuclear disaster that released radioactive isotopes and caused thousands of Japan's residents to evacuate.
