A press release (below) from the Clinton camp today treads the very familiar ground of Obama economic advisor Austan Goolsbee's meeting with Canadian officials. It implies that by keeping Goolsbee off a conference call on trade, the Obama team is failing to adequately respond to concerns about supposed flip-flopping on NAFTA.
In other Goolsbee news (typing that name just gives me a little thrill), I recently learned that while in college at Yale, Goolsbee was the debating partner of the fantabulous Dahlia Lithwick, Slate's legal expert and a new columnist at Newsweek. In 1990, Lithwick and Goolsbee were the runners up for the National Debate Team of the Year Award.
