I've never really been able to figure out why movie theaters don't offer film times in the 8 o'clock hour. Everything begins between 7 and 8, or 9 and 10. I've always assumed a causal link there, that you don't put movies at 8:30 because then you can't fit in that final screening before 10:30, but even so, that doesn't explain why some enterprising theatre in a given city doesn't schedule some movies in the dead zone and mop up filmgoers who're on a tight schedule. So c'mon magic free market thing: I want my 8:30 screenings!
