It's a nice side effect of the internet age that we're finally getting to see the raw source material behind news and magazine stories, rather than being fully dependent on what writers choose to tell us. Along those lines, last weekend's New York Times Magazine article on Barack Obama's foreign policy was a pretty good piece, but it's really not half as useful as the transcript of the extended interview Obama had with the paper, which offers a view of Obama's thinking in real time, and shows how deeply comfortable he is with the details of Iraq policy.
