I wrote about this at Greg's place earlier today, noting that according to CNN exit polls, Latinos gave two-thirds of their votes in Nevada's Senate race to Harry Reid. Sharron Angle had run an anti-illegal immigration ad campaign utilizing ugly racial caricatures of Latinos.
According to Latino Decisions however, the margin was actually much larger than that:
Latino vote for Senate:
Harry Reid: 90%
Sharron Angle: 8%
Latino share of voters: 12%
Latino contribution to H. Reid: +9.8
That really is extraordinary if accurate. It means Angle single-handedly made herself as toxic to Latinos in Nevada as the Republican Party is to black voters nationwide. Doesn't take too much of an imagination to think about how that would affect Republican presidential aspirations if this is what the future looks like nationwide.
