The Wall Street Journal takes on Eric Holder, and stumbles on its way out of the gate in an attempt to get in on the Bush Legacy Project:
One of the media narratives about the Bush Administration has been its "politicization" of the Justice Department. We've always thought most of that was woven out of whole cloth.
Ahem:
An extensive report by the department's Office of the Inspector General and Office of Professional Responsibility concluded yesterday that Goodling and others had broken civil service laws, run afoul of department policy and engaged in "misconduct," a finding that could expose them to further scrutiny and sanctions. The report depicted Goodling as a central figure in politicizing employment decisions at Justice during the Bush administration. There are legitimate objections to Holder. But comparing Holder's role in the Rich pardon to the rank politicization of the Bush Justice Department just ends up making Holder look good.
