I'm actually a bit worried about my own spice arms race. I load hot sauce, hot peppers, wasabi, and anything else that'll make my mouth burn and my eyes water onto everything I eat. And I'm building a resistance. I remember when I thought Potbelly's Hot Peppers were spicy. Now I buy them by the jar, and put ungodly amounts on sandwiches, chips, and so forth, I remember when I found sriracha sauce spicy, but now I use it like ketchup. I find it impossible to get Asian restaurants to infuse my food with any heat. Where will it end? Soon I'll be holding a blowtorch and putting on gloves to apply this stuff.
