The stimulus -- sorry, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act -- just passed the Senate. The vote was 61-37. It was about as constructively bipartisan as kick in the head. Indeed, some of the players who mucked it up the worst, like Johnny Isakson and his house-flipper tax credit, voted against cloture and against the bill. Now we're off to conference where the House and Senate versions will be reconciled. For a glimpse into that process, the Senate Finance Committee released a nice side-by-side comparison (pdf) of the two bills. Give it a look.
