Before folks get too excited over the Washington Monthly's lack of post-Amy Sullivan female writers, it's worth noting that word is they've hired two female editors to replace her and Ben Wallace-Wells. That's not to dispute the larger point that professional political journalism is a boys club, but the WaMo, in particular, is doing their best.
