John R. Brooks is professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center, and a visiting professor of law at Fordham University School of Law. He teaches and writes on tax theory and policy, as well as the federal student loan program. In addition to academic writing in The Georgetown Law Journal, the Tax Law Review, and elsewhere, he has written for The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.
