Madeline Janis is the co-executive director of Jobs to Move America. An attorney, community advocate, and policy expert, she helped to negotiate the first community benefits agreement in the U.S. and has spoken and written extensively on the subject. She serves as the California Assembly Speaker’s representative on the California Competes Tax Credit committee, which awards grants and tax credits to private companies. She served for ten years on the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency, which awarded billions in public subsidies to private developers.
