Yes, of course, I want to be able to eat, to go to the movies, and to buy my son new shoes when he grows out of the last size, which is roughly every four months. (Good lord, were his birthparents 10 feet tall?!) Yes, I want a good, well-paying, meaningful job that enables me to do that (give to the Prospect, please!)–and I dearly hope that everyone around can have good jobs so they, too, can feed and clothe and house their families, with dignity and pride. And yes, I feel horror and despair as I hear the drums banging for war yet again–this time with Iran–as if we’ve learned nothing whatsoever in the past decade.

So yes, the economy and foreign policy are important. I get that.
