Senator Orrin Hatch asks Holder if he'll pursue prosecutions of the vice president, the Bush Office of Legal Counsel, and other officials involved with torture policy. The answer? A dodge:
No one is above the law. We will follow the evidence, the facts, the law and let us take that where it should. … We don't want to criminalize policy differences that might exist between the outgoing administration and the administration that is going to take over.
Hatch follows up: Would you consider these policy decisions?
I've not been read into a variety of things that I will be exposed to should I become attorney general, and that would inform any decision I would make in that regard.
