ABC has obtained a copy of the Reverend Wright ad that McCain famously scotched. Titillating stuff. The problem is the ad isn't very good. It's too explicit, too desperate. It actually just suggests that there was no way to use the Wright stuff in a subtle fashion, and McCain declared it off-limits because he couldn't have avoided the backlash. Meanwhile, this ad never ran, was never meant to run, and was nevertheless leaked to the newsmedia after the campaign ended. In that way, it's sort of the logical conclusion of the McCain campaign's ad strategy.
