This isn't that much of an interlude, but I moderated a panel at Netroots Nation bringing together the Nation's Chris Hayes, online organizer extraordinaire Ben Brandzel, and unsettlingly charismatic social scientist-type Elisabeth Jacobs for a discussion on what the chances are for a real social democratic moment, and what impediments stand in the way. The panel actually turned out to be pretty interesting (Jacobs' research on New Deal-era ideological polling was particularly useful), and folks with a bit of time on their hands should give it a look:
