When I saw Doug Holtz-Eakin lay out the McCain economic policy agenda at The Urban Institute, bullet point one was the importance of a world class education system. But we left bullet point one awfully quickly. The speech, however, was supposed to be on tax policy, so I didn't think much of Holtz-Eakin's vagueness on education. Now, as Dana Goldstein explains in the second piece of McCain week, DHE's reluctance to get into details makes more sense: McCain doesn't have an education policy.
