Robert Reich is right about this. Of the two groups with a role in The Big Shitpile, individual borrowers and large financial institutions, it's really the financial institutions who should've known better and have the institutional memory to learn from consequences. The individuals who overextended themselves on loans often lacked the financial literacy to know what they were getting into, and it doesn't do any good to send them all into bankruptcy anyway.
