Now that The Divorce and Pretty Girls Make Graves have played their final shows, I am desperately short on music outside of the categories of gummy mainstream pop/power ballad rock/hip-hop (for which I'm a bit of an apologist). Other bands in the overly broad category of "indie rock" that I enjoy include Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, The Gossip, Rainier Maria, The Peels, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In a somewhat quieter vein are Laura Viers, The Wrens, Harvey Danger, and to a lesser extent Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, and Arab Strap.
So, help me oh Lazyweb. What should I be listening to?
