From Felix Salmon comes this chart tracking the change in market value of various banks between the second quarter of 2007 and January 20th, 2009. The blue circle is the 2007 number. The green dot is the 2009 number. Click on the image for a bigger version. I'm going to go hide under a desk now.Update: As various commenters noted, the original chart was, well, crap. It mapped market capitalization on the diameter of the circles rather than the area. Weird decision. Salmon's commenters noted the same, and one of them made a betterer graph, which is the graph you're now looking at.
