I think it's actually pretty touching that so many of Andrew Sullivan's readers freaked out when his blog stayed dark today, and I'm glad to know he's okay. But it's a good illustration of how habituated we've all become to constant commentary. I've actually become convinced that the major problem in political coverage is oversupply and we'd all be better off if the number of political reporters was capped and none of them -- us? -- were allowed to work more than one out of every three days. Of course, I won't follow my own advice on this stuff, as I'm subject to the same competitive pressures as everyone else.
