Simon Maloy picks apart an amazingly terrible photoshop job touted by Jack Cashill, the WorldNetDaily columnist who thinks Barack Obama's real father might be Jimi Hendrix. I think my favorite part about the whole thing is that even if the photo, which depicts Obama with his grandparents in New York City, wasn't real, what does that even mean? That Obama was secretly never in New York City, because he was secretly aiding the mujihadeen in their battle against the Soviets?
I think we need to add to the birther lexicon a name for the kind of conspiracy theory about Obama that, if true, wouldn't actually tell us anything particularly interesting or is even related to the dumb questions about the president's citizenship. This is my favorite example.
