Over at Feministing, Jessica Valenti catches the New York Times Magazine in an embarrassing omission: In a Matt Bai feature on Obama and black politicians that will run Sunday, there are no women included among the black elected leaders to watch.
I am generally a big fan of Bai's work. But what women could've he highlighted in this piece? How about Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin? Maryland Congresswoman Donna Edwards, the darling of the Netroots? Speaker of the California Assembly Karen Bass, the first black woman to hold that job? Who else?
