I joined the Weekly Standard's Matt Continetti on Bloggingheads Tuesday, and since the Cash for Clunkers program passed the Senate last night, here's the start of our discussion about the program, where I argue it's good economic stimulus and decent environmental policy and Matt worries that the government is creating a subsidy program that will never die. Ultimately, we solve the problem by betting -- it's like a political futures market, but just with the two of us. Other topics we covered included the blast furnace that is Washington in August, Bill Clinton's rescue mission in North Korea, the obstacles to health care reform, and that whole astroturfing situation. Here's the link to watch the whole thing. Also, National Health Service!?
